We have SIDUS with us today, the Next-generation AAA+ browser gaming metaverse. . Representing this revolutionary project we have Anthony Checo (Chief of External Affairs).

Welcome to the OIG Main Stage @Antonzna ! Can you introduce yourself briefly to our community?

Anthony: Hello everyone! My name’s Antony and I am in charge of External Affairs for the SIDUS HEROES development process. I am responsible for building up a network of project supporters and finding ways for us to collaborate and bring maximum value to our communities.

How would you describe what SIDUS is? What are its mission and vision?

Anthony: SIDUS HEROES is the first-ever WebGL, AAA-level, Play-to-Earn, NFT and MMORPG game, set in a space metaverse at a time when technological advancements have reached the level of merging with all living beings. Simply put, it’s a high-quality gaming metaverse that offers breathtaking scenarios and multiple earning opportunities that can all be accessed from a browser in one click.

The game builds a complex, closed economic system based on a limited emission of resources. The metaverse relies on non-renewable fossils and renewable biological resources that play a part in the development of an advanced production structure.

Apart from working on immersive gameplay and developing complex production lines and socio-economic and political systems, our team devotes a lot of its time and energy to making SIDUS technologically advanced and innovative. One of the things we do is apply advanced client mathematical algorithms to create detailed customization. Producers and players can customize their Heroes, dynamically alter the size and proportions of its figure, choose muscle relief, thickness, skin texture and colour, even the shape of the hairstyle. SIDUS supporters can now check out the visual representation of the different races on our social media and official website. When the game is fully launched, the graphics will definitely be one of the players’ favourite parts.

Frumps | OIG: The visuals you have released so far have blown us away! This customization aspect sounds incredible!

Can you give us a little background on the core team behind SIDUS, what skills and experiences do they bring to the project that will help it fulfil its massive ambitions?

Anthony: Absolutely!

From the very beginning, when SIDUS was still an NFT avatar project, it had already accumulated a large number of professionals around it. Now, even more, amazing specialists have joined the project and are working on its implementation. The SIDUS NFT Heroes team features a large number of highly skilled blockchain developers, with years of experience in building DeFi and NFT products. Many members of the SIDUS team come from the game development industry and are skilled in applying cutting-edge technologies and multimedia solutions.

We chose the path of blockchain WebGL gaming. The engineers in our development team have unique experience working with this technology. Our main partner and supporter is PlayDisplay, which is in charge of the WebGL implementation, the whole game design and the production of SIDUS HEROES.

Frumps | OIG: You can see from the high quality peeks we have had at the game that it is designed and created by experts. To use WebGL and create a AAA game requires incredible engineers. The team are doing an amazing job!

What problems does SIDUS address in the current Blockchain Gaming space?

Anthony: The blockchain gaming industry remains rather closed to the general public. One of our goals is to lower the entry barrier and give a greater number of users access to the game.

We’re addressing this very issue by building the SIDUS HEROES game on WebGL technology. WebGL is utilized for rendering interactive 3D graphics within compatible web browsers, without the need for additional plugins or instruments. What users should be fully aware of, first and foremost, is that the SIDUS game will be accessible through their web browser. They don’t need to download any applications onto their phones or PCs. Just type in the SIDUS URL and press ‘Play’.

No need to wait either while the content is upgrading. No need to free up storage on your device to download the game and start playing. The best part is that players don’t need to check their device specs or make sure they’re compatible with the game.

This is a big step in the direction of making blockchain gaming more accessible to the masses. Instead of spending $500 to over $1,000 on a device or full gaming set, users can play SIDUS on the devices they already own.

Frumps | OIG: WOW! This is massive, it really is a game-changer for the gaming industry and opens up the whole world to access this incredible game, the potential is enormous!

Can you tell us what the game will look like? What are the different roles and game modes available?

Anthony: SIDUS HEROES is a blockchain MMORPG game that offers multiple gaming scenarios so that each user is able to find something for themselves.

Users can choose any role (or combination of roles) for themselves. Players can fight in the Battle Arena, win tournaments and fights and be rewarded in SIDUS’ native tokens. By winning battles, players accumulate points and rise in the ratings. At the end of the fighting season, the Heroes with the highest ratings are rewarded with loot boxes containing exclusive content that their owners can use to upgrade their Heroes or sell in the marketplace. The game offers multiple game modes: Heroes can fight in PvP or PvE mode, one on one or in teams of 3 Heroes and 3 pets.

Some users will choose to mine resources or master a profession and become scientists, hunters, builders, pilots, mechanical engineers, navigation officers. Advancement through the missions and the construction of large-scale structures and spaceships will only be possible through team gameplay and cooperation with other players.

Heroes can also get into politics, create their party, get elected in the Council elections and eventually become President.

What are the different ways a player can earn in SIDUS?

Anthony: Players have multiple opportunities to earn rewards that are paid out in SIDUS’ native tokens or NFTs, which they can later sell in the marketplace or rent out to other players.

There’re multiple options:

— Players can fight in the Battle Arena, win tournaments and fights and be rewarded in SIDUS’ native tokens. By winning battles, players accumulate points and rise in the ratings. At the end of the fighting season, the Heroes with the highest ratings are rewarded with loot boxes containing exclusive content that their owners can use to upgrade their Heroes or sell in the marketplace.

— Players can mine resources or master a profession and get in-game items (NFTs) or native tokens for it.

— Heroes can get elected to the Council. For example, the Council decides on what technology to develop during its term. If the technology is mastered successfully and is applied where it’s needed before the end of its term, the Councilors will receive a share of the patent fees.

— The SIDUS HEROES metaverse will also include DeFi services like SIDUS Farming.

Anthony: Absolutely!

Frumps | OIG: Can you tell us a little more about your tokens SIDUS and SENATE, what are their utilities and significance to your project?

Anthony: The game will have two native tokens — the SIDUS and SENATE. SENATE is the governance token. Users holding this token will be able to express their political views and influence the development of the project. Voting power will be proportionate to the number of tokens each user has. SENATE will also be used for purchasing accelerators and consumables, which make the gameplay more effective and productive.

SIDUS, on the other hand, is a gaming token that will also be widely used within the game, in the SIDUS marketplace and for other in-game services.

Frumps | OIG: Very strong use cases for acquiring & holding!

In what ways is SIDUS an NFT orientated game? Can you tell us a little about your NFTs, how they work & where can we get them?

Anthony: All in-game items are represented as non-fungible tokens and you can operate them as any other NFT, meaning you can keep them or sell them on other platforms. SIDUS HEROES will also launch its own in-game NFT marketplace, so users will have plenty of opportunities to trade their NFTs.

I would also like to talk more about the Genesis NFT collection. Starting with the beta version of the game, at this stage, SIDUS will only be available to holders of NFTs from the SIDUS: NFT Heroes collection (also referred to as the ‘Genesis collection’) and the Academy NFT collection that is coming out soon.

The initial SIDUS: NFT Heroes collection consists of 6,000 unique characters that have different levels of rarity (Original, Rare, Legendary and Exclusive). Besides serving as an entrance ticket to the SIDUS metaverse, NFT Heroes from the Genesis collection can be used for NFT staking and NFT wrapping. The NFTs were sold out quickly and are now only available for purchase on the secondary market, on OpenSea. Please, be careful and be aware of scammers. The Academy NFT collection was created for the sole purpose of allowing users to enter the SIDUS gaming metaverse. Academy collection NFTs can’t be staked outside of the game or used to access the same benefits that the Heroes from the Genesis collection enjoy outside of the game. We’re planning on launching the Academy collection in the upcoming months. So, follow official SIDUS media channels to find out the date of the launch.

Anthony: Haha, you are free to do so!

Frumps | OIG: You have one of the most complete roadmaps we have ever seen! Can you tell us some things you have already achieved that you are proud of and let us know of some immediate events that are coming up in the near future we should be aware of?

Anthony: Work on the project started in the middle of 2021. The key milestones for this period were the launch of the Genesis NFT collection (a.k.a. ‘SIDUS: NFT Heroes’) and the original website, development of the project’s architectural design, recruitment of missing team members to implement an AAA-level game and the launch of the updated website v2.0 with concept details.

We’ve managed to meet all these goals. The collection was published on OpenSea on August 30th. The demand for NFTs during the presale exceeded the available supply and the collection was sold out in 10 minutes.

In the meantime, SIDUS closed all the vacant positions and built a strong team of 200+ full-time employees from different domains. I can assure you, the team that gathered around the SIDUS idea has many successful projects under its belt and will do everything to provide a high-quality immersive experience.

In October, SIDUS launched the demo version of the game and the new website. In the pre-alpha version, users are given the chance to explore the SIDUS Central Station, choose between several Heroes and test them out in the Battle Arena.

The major event coming up soon is the Initial DEX Offering. Then, we take a small break for the holidays and come back with a closed beta version of the game on January 10th. The game will only be available to holders of NFTs from SIDUS’ Genesis NFT collection. But soon enough, on January 23rd, we’re going to launch the public beta version and invite the PAID community to see the SIDUS metaverse in all its full glory.

Soon, we will also announce the release of the Academy NFT collection. This collection is essentially an entry ticket to the SIDUS game. We’re sticking to our initial plan of only granting holders of NFT Heroes from the Genesis or Academy collections access to the game.

Frumps | OIG: You have achieved so much and it's still so early in your journey! 200+ full-time employees…wow, this explains the incredible things we have seen so far. Question 3)

Anthony: Sidus means ‘star’ in the Latin language. We took the name as an inspiration to reflect that the SIDUS HEROES game is set in a space metaverse and centred around space exploration. The name also refers to the Genesis collection — SIDUS: NFT Heroes. According to its lore, NFT Heroes from different planets across the universe found their refuge in an abandoned city and built a new society called ‘SIDUS’. To distance themselves from the stories of the past and the clashes happening around them, they chose a new identity for themselves and started to go by the name ‘NFT Heroes’.

Anthony: Absolutely! That’s why we’ve made such a low entry-level from the technical side and used the WEBGL engine for the cloudgaming. Of course, we are also making other NFT HEROES collections that are cheaper than Genesis ones, which does make an enormous difference 😉

Frumps | OIG: it really is a game that can and will encompass all markets in the world!

Anthony: Of course! We now have a lot of traditional marketing planned and also have a lot of regional managers that will be playing a promotion role for different parts of the world. Answering your question, we definitely will involve the traditional users into our game as well as the NFT Space since our game will be fully ready for that!
