Could you briefly introduce yourself to the OIG community
Andy | GEMS CEO: Hi everyone this is Andy from GEMS. Nice meeting the OIG community here.
My name is Andy. I’m the co-founder of GEMS, which is an Esports 3.0 aggregator platform within an O2O ecosystem. It propels Esports into 3.0 by integrating Gamefi, Metaverse and Socialfi elements, and leverages on its founding partners’ chain of Esports hotels.
A little bit about myself, my background has always been in the Esports, tech and hotel industry. With my previous experience in Esports and the team’s expertise, I believe GEMS would become a one-stop destination for gamers that integrates the young population into the new sharing economy.
I have a strong belief in blockchain being the next blue ocean for Esports and that’s why I’m doing this great project with a great team!

Could you please share with us a brief summary of what GEMS is and what it does?
Andy | GEMS CEO: GEMS stands for GameFi. Esports. Metaverse. SocialFi.
GEMS core business pillars include an NFT Rental, DeFi Union that introduce multiple payment models and loans to make expensive NFTs available for everyone; FanFi Studio, a cradle to nurture future gamefi talents; Other awesome features like P2E (Play-to-Earn) Arena and DAO GUILD aim to bring players together to earn via blockchain games.

Who are the team behind the GEMS project, are there any interesting partners?
Andy | GEMS CEO: Sure! @thegemsgg have a lot of partners to support us in this project! We established a strong partnership with partners such as Dreams Quest, Polkabridge, Project Seed, Formless, Metis, IQ Protocol, Formless and the strong partnership list goes on!
We believe that GEMS and all our partners, we can make GameFi the next Esports, create Esports 3.0 together
Frumps | OIG: These are great partnerships with some very strong industry names that will certainly help develop GEMS in a number of ways!
What problems do you see in the industry and how are you going to solve the identified problems?
Andy | GEMS CEO: Speaking about problems here but we see it as opportunities instead:
1. High Entry Fee to the GameFi World
2. Blockchain Talent Scarcity
3. Lack of Revenue for Gamers
4. Blockchain Gamers are all Scattered
Unlike the Esports community, the GameFi community is all scattered across the world. There’s a need to bring them together, build and reinforce the community by hosting blockchain gaming events/tournaments. This is also why GEMS is engineered to solve all these problems.
We can resolve the above by adopting and implementing ESPORTS 3.0.
Frumps | OIG: Great answer, you see opportunities rather than problems! Those 4 points are very true and you are right, there is a need to unify and bring people into the gamify world. It's great that you have the solutions for this!
Other than your ecosystem, what makes the GEMS project so unique?
Andy | GEMS CEO: I am loving the host and this community for questions that enable GEMS to talk about the competitive advantage of our platform.

Andy | GEMS CEO: Definitely Frump and I would like to also share our Roadmap besides the above questions so everyone knows our project key milestones.

Does GEMS focus only on gamers users or do you also focus on users interested in profitable investments? If so, can you explain to me what innovative revenue models GEMS offers both gamers and investors?
Andy | GEMS CEO: We believe in not just 1 dimension to get a balanced and systematic ecological system. Both gamers and trading is equally balanced in our opinion.
I will also share the innovative revenue models here:

INVESTORS: By investing in our project and get good returns. :)

Current NFT is a hot topic, but are NFT not just for art. Does your project think that more real world use cases will emerge for NFTs as time goes on, why should we take NFTs seriously?
Andy | GEMS CEO: Like what you said NFT is not just for ART. Basically anything can become a NFT example allowing artists, brands and companies to provide authenticity and originality in the rising digital age.
The GEMS membership and platform would include metaverse passport as NFT, and that will also include a dynamic 3D emotional digital avatar NFT.
With this, it will form your perfume in the metaverse for socialising and doing Defi stuff as well. As we are an GameFi aggregator, the team are currently exploring the opportunity on how we can collaborate with several of GameFi project to increase the utility of our own NFTs.

Metaverse is still in their infancy and are somewhat limited in their characteristics, in the future it is very certain that new Metaverse projects will emerge Do you think GEMS is capable of being a leader in the future with respect to Metaverse?
Andy | GEMS CEO: Sure we do! Not just that the metaverse that we are talking about but the whole ecosystem that GEMS stands for: GameFi, Esports, Metaverse and SocialFi.
As being said, our members will be able to create their own avatar in our NFT rental platform.

Gaming and Metaverse are very attractive in modern environment. As a metaverse, how would you intend to include both of these major characteristics into your System?With the metaverse at the basis of this strategy,what is the distinction between a gamers & an user when they play?
Andy | GEMS CEO: This is an excellent question choice pick. Let me share with you first our GEMS ECO SYSTEM and not only about gaming and metaverse coz is actually more than that to bring ESPORTS 3.0 to the entire GameFi world.

You are right!!! METAVERSE have been a recent hot topic. @thegemsgg have our NFT portal that’s to cater the GameFi, Esports and Metaverse segment. DeFi Union, DAO Guild and Play to Earn Arena to cater the GameFi segment as we would like to empower GameFi gamers with my previous experience…
Gamers can enjoy more high end 3D graphic motion during game play.
User or social life styler will be doing their Maetaverse shopping, pub stomping, having s social conversation in metaverse with digital avatars etc.
So you can clearly see the distinction usage of metaverse between user and gamers.

Tournaments are a vital source of revenue for all eSports players, as well as essential promotional tools for eSports sponsors. So tournament transparency is vital. My question is, what kind of protocols have GEMS implemented to maintain balance and fairness in the tournaments?
Andy | GEMS CEO: Esports team and organization have been exploring many solutions to resolve fairness, maintain balance and social engineering problems. Look no further coz “BLOCKCHAIN” and “ESPORTS 3.0” created via GEMS will resolve these long-existing problems in the Esports World.
We will implement DAO GUILD as our main protocols to offer gamers an opportunity to become guild trainers, team up with others and create an in-game community.
Guild members can:
- Make proposals
- Vote on the organization’s direction
- Learn from game trainers
- Borrow NFT from the community
GEMS’ goal is to bring players together to earn via blockchain games and make play-to-earn available for everyone.
