Paddy Carroll: Hi @SaigonXIII how are you today? I hope that everyone is well.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: Doing great Paddy! And thank you for the wishes! So I’d like to kick it off first with a question about the amazing people over at BlokTopia.
The team you have is fantastic in regards to calibre and experience, but for those who don’t know, could you outline your key members and their experiences and qualifications which will help ensure this project succeeds?
Paddy Carroll: Yes of course!
Hi everyone. I’m Paddy and I am the CMO and a co-founder of Bloktopia. Ross is CEO and also co-founder. We met at University. Opportunities to work together had been discussed in the past, but the right one had never materialised until Ross really started to get involved in the crypto space in 2015. As his experience and understanding of crypto evolved, Ross felt like there was a gap in the market for a central area which contained everything about the industry. As NFT and Metaverse demand and technological capability grew, it made sense to focus the idea within that medium.
I am from a marketing background, working for some of the largest brands in the UK such as BT Group and Flutter Entertainment. After digesting and understanding the concept, I have helped develop the brand, commercial and advertising opportunities within Bloktopia.
We also have Simon Benson on board as our CTO. Simon was of the founders of Sony PlayStation VR, has a wealth of experience and is running the team that are building Bloktopia in the Unity Engine.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: That’s awesome that you have such a long-standing relationship with Ross! It really seems as if you two are very in unison with some of the ideas and strategies that you want to implement! And your background in marketing definitely shows — we are very impressed with many of the content pieces which BlokTopia has shown so far!
You also have some of the biggest names in not just crypto, but the world onboard, can you tell us how this happened and if there are any more big names to come?
Paddy Carroll: Yes, we’ve been very fortunate in that regard.
I think that what we have found is that everyone in the Crypto space wants to help each other. A lot of our investors have helped to open doors to some of the brands that we have already confirmed in our space. Anchor Tenants include lead investor’s Animoca Brands, Polygon, Avalanche, Dextools, DuckDao, Anti Fund, Polkastarter, Travala, Kucoin, Collateral and influencers Jake Paul, Bitboy and Wendy-O
We have concentrated on filling out Level One because that is the level we have built so far in Unity. It’s a premium Level where all of the footfall has to go.
But there will be other announcements and more brands onboarded for sure. Level 21 in particular is a Gaming zone and has opened us up to talking to some major brands, some of which we can’t mention yet because we are under NDA.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: That is definitely an all-star cast of projects, investors and influencers. And we are excited to hear about what other partnerships and collaborations you have cooking up!
In terms of the actual utility of the token, can you explain BlOK/REBLOK/ADBLOCK and their functions within the metaverse?
Paddy Carroll: Yep, so there is only one token, and that is BLOK.
REBLOK and ADBLOK are NFTs that we will be selling within Bloktopia.
BLOK will act as a currency within Bloktopia, allowing people to purchase items within our world. BLOK will initially be used to purchase NFTs which will be sold for Real Estate (REBLOK) and Advertising space (ADBLOK) in Bloktopia. which both generate incomes from advertisers and rental fees. The higher the daily active users within Bloktopia, the more revenue will be generated from the Big Data produced and the impressions that brands pay for when they advertise on the totems within Bloktopia, and/or rent space. Meaning that NFT’s within Bloktopia, generate revenue for the holders as well as the more typical asset appreciation.
You will also need BLOK to customise your avatar, and if you’d like any sole ownership REBLOK, which would be your own space within Bloktopia. You can also customise that space too. There will also be opportunities to spend BLOK on exclusive events and pay to earn games. One such example is the Lamborghini Prize Draw we will be running, where a lucky winner will get a real-life Lamborghini delivered to their door.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: Okay! Thank you for making the distinction between the three! It really is an impressive ecosystem that you have built that creates value for users on multiple levels! And that is an incredible Lamborghini Contest that will definitely change someone’s life!
Could you talk a little bit about what it was like building the Metaverse on Polygon? Were there any specific reasons why you decided to go with that chain?
Paddy Carroll: Yes of course. Polygon have been a really helpful partner for us from day one, securing us a grant, investment, and offering lots of initial support. They are also an anchor tenant. Polygon is quick, scalable, can hold NFTs, is the number one blockchain for gaming and is low cost. So they were an obvious partner for us.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: Yes! I think a lot of people will be surprised how smooth the entire experience will be when they get a chance to explore BlokTopia on Polygon!
We definitely have seen a handful of metaverse projects lately within the past quarter and a handful about to be released or under development. What makes Bloktopia superior to its competitors, what is its unique selling point?
Paddy Carroll: Absolutely, and there are some really cool metaverse projects out there right? We are lucky to have good relationships with a few of them.
The thing which distinguishes Bloktopia from other metaverses is that it solves a real-world problem, which is the ubiquitous nature of crypto. Everyone needs to check 3 or 4 websites and apps to get news, influencer updates, exchanges.
Bloktopia is more focused on the commercial side of crypto and bringing it all together. It will be an enclosed space, not a sprawling world which is cumbersome to navigate. That means our users will easily find the information that they wish to engage in. Points of interest will be clearly signposted, and with stunning sightlines and visual effects, UX will be considered at every step. We think that makes us quite unique, we will be the home of crypto. Everything you will ever need will be in Bloktopia.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: Wow. A one-stop shop for all of your digital needs. I think we can definitely agree that the user experience within blockchain is something that needs to be further developed across the entire space. And the better it will get, means that the average user (who may not be native crypto) can hop in, understand what they are doing, and enjoy the process!
Paddy Carroll: Well exactly and being able to do this in a metaverse instead of a 2D platform, means the opportunities are endless.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: A lot of our community are eager to join in the NFT minting, real estate sales etc, can you give us an overview of your roadmap and what is coming up (that you can reveal)?
Paddy Carroll: So, look, I can’t give a huge amount away on when our NFT portal will open. But it will be very soon.
The key thing to remember is that we will go through our BLOK IDO process (starting tomorrow with Seedify and Red Kite and then on Wednesday with Oxbull and Trustpad) and then will be listing on a CEX and DEX on October 6th. You need BLOK to buy in our Bloktopia Land Sale Portal, so buying at an earlier time and retaining until our portal opens is the most sensible strategy.
We will be selling in phases, with phase one opening not too long after the CEX listing. And the sales phases will continue through the rest of 2021 at least.
We hope to have Bloktopia live in Q1 2022. Obviously at the moment, we have only built Level One, so have 20 more levels to build in Unity, and need to integrate it all into the Blockchain.

Paddy Carroll: Well Jaki, our vision is based on 21 levels to commemorate 21 million Bitcoin. As you have mentioned, there is a lot to do, and that is where our full focus is currently. The benefit of a virtual world is that anything is possible, so in the future, this may evolve, but within the Bloktopia metaverse I would expect innovation to come internally first as opposed to externally. Specifically things like tying up retail and NFT sales so you might be able to buy some Nike trainers for your avatar and get a pair sent to your house for you, using our metaverse as a tool to introduce brands outside of Crypto into our space encouraging mass adoption and streaming major events and concerts and being as immersive and cutting edge as possible. We just want several cool reasons for people to keep coming to Bloktopia.
Saigon 💎 | OIG: Incredible! I think the line between the real world and the metaverse world can be a lot more connected with this incredible ecosystem you’ve imagined and brought to life!

Paddy Carroll: Hey Orange, thanks for the question. Look, we will have more on pricing this week, but believe me, we have made it affordable for all. This is because sole ownership spaces are smaller and in the higher parts of our tower. Then the multiple ownership spaces are in premium areas and will have a tenant in them willing to pay rental fees.
The prices will be fixed for the first land sale, and then of course will fluctuate depending on what happens with the price of BLOK. If BLOK goes up, then so will the cost of NFTs for the second land sale.

Paddy Carroll: Bloktopia has a very important role to play with non-crypto natives. We all know that awareness of crypto has spiked through the Covid-19 era, but people are still cynical and remain uneducated about cryptocurrency.
We will be targeting these people and will contain content in our world which helps them understand what cryptocurrency is and where to get started. I don’t believe there is anywhere obviously sign posted, which does a good enough job of this currently.
On the second part of the question, I believe that we have got a pretty good plan in place for driving value from our BLOK token. But, I firmly believe that if we focus on the brand, generating demand for our product and relentlessly focus on including bigger and better content in our metaverse — the token price will look after itself.
